When guys like Kevin Randleman, Georges St. Pierre, Bas Rutten, Frank Mir and Tim Sylvia talk about Fedor Emelianenko it is with amazing respect. These are fighters who know what they are talking about and the only thing they have to say about Fedor Emeliaenko is how bad ass he is and how there is no better MMA fighter in the world in any weight class. Probably the only person who disputes this is Dana White, who obviously is doing it for business reasons. If Fedor was contracted with the UFC, I guarantee Dana White would not be trying to discount Fedor’s title and record. At the end of the day, it is very hard to deny what all of the other great MMA fighters are saying about Fedor. Fedor is the best pound for pound fighter in the world.
Tim Sylvia:
“I’ve never been hit that hard before. The guy’s a stud, I don’t even think he’s human”
Kevin Randleman:
“The best fighter to ever climb in any arena is Emelianenko, Fedor. There is nobody better, he is the best fighter I have ever seen, fought, trained with, everything”

The UFC is doing what all large American Corporations do, take over the market share and claim there is no better product. But real MMA fans know who the best fighters in the world are. One of them is Fedor. If fact it is a complete understatement to say that he is the best pound for pound fighter in the world. He is the best fighter to enter the ring. Now and in the last ten years. At to put it to the test, he could beat anyone in any weight class today.
You can’t tell me that the last five UFC (95-99) have been made up of the greatest fighters that ever lived. Some of them were ridiculous. They should have given us our money back after that Anderson Silva fight. AND they should make him fight again right away for being such a bore. I gotta say that that was a horrible match up as well. Just maken money for the man.
The UFC has some great fighters but is it very apparent that they do not have the best fighters in the world. All you have to do is read the MMA magazines, and watch the tournaments. In most of their weight classes they cater to a chosen few American camps and do not stray too far from the American fighter theme. Before the fall of Pride It seemed like it was a real struggle for them to bring in the Brazilians.
We all know that GSP had a long road to walk to get to his championship fight. I saw it myself when I attended some of the Vegas matches. Even though he was the obvious choice and a phenom way back when, he didn’t get a fight until much later than he should have. Even then the crowd booed the guy from Canada and cheered for the guy from the U.S. and booed him when he won as well. I for one only want to see the best fighters in the world, not just the lucky few that get anointed by the King.
I understand that business is business and contracts have to be negotiated, and there is the little steroid taboo here that is not such a bad thing anywhere else in the world, but there has to be a way for us to see the actual Best Fighters In The World compete. How about one contract fights in Europe and else where. I have yet to hear about Josh Barnett, Gerard Mousasi, Shinya Aoki, Eddie Alverez, Joachim Hansen, Tatsuya Kawajiri coming to fight some of the UFC’s best of the best. These guys have heart and are some of the top in the world.
Anyway Dana is making a lot of money and he did bring MMA from the basement to the top floor. But lets not forget our roots. We all know that Fedor is the best in the world. We all know that the best come and go and The Fedor’s and Randy’s only come around once in a while. So let’s get back to seeing the best fight’s in the world, stop all the bickering, the politics, and the whining. Start fighting. Mir did not deserve a title shot nor did Lesner. It is just that the heavyweight class is weak and that’s all they had.

What Michael Nelson meant was UFC as an American corporation. A lot of UFC fighters are from abroad but UFC and most yahoo sports writers are so biased only to fighters who fight in the UFC. They belittle other MMA fighters (foreign or american) who fights for other MMA organizations. Its so obvious.
