You’ve heard of substitute teachers, but have you heard of substitute fighters? Well there are substitute fighters. Fighting is show business and as you may know, the show must go on. So what do you do if a fighter can’t make the fight they are scheduled for? You find another fighter to take their place. Here’s a little story about one of those situations in the up coming UFC 88.
After suffering a spirited loss to Demian Maia at UFC 87 Seek and Destroy, Jason “The Athlete” MacDonald will be back in the Octagon to replace fellow Canadian Jason “Dooms” Day at UFC 88 Breakthrough.
Day suffered an elbow and bicep injury that forced him to withdraw from his middleweight bout against Jason “The Punisher” Lambert in Atlanta on September 6th.
